Sepet The Musical is a stage adaptation of Yasmin Ahmad’s masterpiece of a film, a cultural milestone in Malaysia’s cinematic history. It is alarming to see how the themes she so poetically strung together fourteen years ago remain so relevant today. Using authentically Malaysian music and lyrics, Sepet The Musical pays homage to Yasmin Ahmad’s cinematic style by remaining true to its source material but also reigniting its timeless narrative for modern audiences.

Sepet The Musical is your chance to walk down memory lane, relive an authentically Malaysian classic and poignantly assess the innocence of puppy love, along with the futility of the boundaries that divide society.

Sepet The Musical is an immersive experience where nostalgic food and drink will be served. Audiences are invited to dress in their best Jason and Orked aesthetic: casual pasar-malam attire and effortless baju kurungs!
